His father passed away when he was four. After graduating from Driggs High School he served as a missionary in the Northwestern States Mission. When the mission was split he was called to serve in the Edmonton Alberta Canada Mission. He married Phyllis Larsen Aug. 18, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. He began working at an early age; delivering groceries, farming, working in a rock quarry and mine. He became trained in carpentry and later lived in Boise where he did custodial work and built homes. He moved to Kuna in 1975 where he farmed with his son, Cline. In Oct. of 1980 he and his wife were called to serve as missionaries in Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning he again farmed with Cline but this time lived in Mountain Home. It was here that he and Phyllis did custodial work for the church. After retiring in 1994 he built a home in Fruitland, ID to live close to family. He lived a life of service to his family, friends, and church. His sense of humor endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Phyllis and daughter, Jill. Survivors include his son, Cline and wife, Eilleen of Fruitland; grandchildren, Amber Martin of Newnam, GA, Christy Moss and family of Collinsville, OK, Deborah Lander and family of Roseburg, OR, Jake Waddell and family of Fruitland, Tamara Simpson and family of Middleton, Morgan Waddell and wife of Niagara Falls, Canada, LaNae and Garrett Waddell of Fruitland; and 15 great grandchildren.
