RG was born on Aug. 19, 1918 to Ralph Rollins and Maude Desdamona (Branen) Glover in Valentine, NE (most fitting as he was truly a sweetheart of a man). He grew up in Alliance, NE as the youngest of five children. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1937, obtained his Bachelor Degree from the University of Omaha in Lincoln in 1961 and his Masters Degree from St. Mary's University of San Antonio, TX in 1967. He was only three credits shy of achieving his Doctorate but stopped intentionally so he could teach Junior High School in Payette which he did for 10 years. He inspired many former students to become teachers having been their "favorite teacher". He was also a counselor to the kids being paid $1 a year for that service. Lt. Col. Ralph R. Glover made a 28 year career first in the Army Air Corps and then in US Air Force having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He spent service time in France, Germany, and many other bases too numerous to mention. He took pride in wearing his cap designating his time served. It gave him such a warm feeling when a young service man would step up to shake his hand and thank him for serving. RG married Claire Cheek in 1942. To this union they were blessed with two children, Loren Mac Glover and Pamela R. Glover. Claire passed away after 52 happy years together. He later married Joan Newland Marsters and they've had a wonderful adventurous life together. RG and Joan enjoyed traveling, painting and doing everything together. He was very spiritual attending the First Baptist Church as an active member for many years. He was a board member and an active chairman many times taking care of whatever needed done for the church. For fun RG enjoyed the cabin at Little Salmon, fly-fishing, oil painting, singing, dancing, woodworking, auto mechanics, traveling abroad and trips in the "playhouse" to the coast. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his birthday bashes in Silver Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, wife Claire and son Mac. RG is survived by his wife of 14 years Joan and his children Pamela R. Glover (Steve McCollum), Alee Marsters, Doug (Jill) Marsters, Greg (Lara) Marsters, and Amber (Bruce) Egbert, and many grand and great grandchildren.
