The world lost a beloved mother, grandma, sister, lover and friend on the evening of January 22, 2022 after her courageous battle. Rhonda, 65, battled lung cancer, but it never stopped her from smiling, giving the best hugs & radiating kindness - to know her, was to love her.
Born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on January 30th 1956 to Lloyd and Barbara Bachel, she was one of six children raised in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Life later took her to Colorado where she raised her two children, Shane (Danielle) Ratzlaff and Barbie (Andy) Miller. As her children grew up, Shane ventured to Omaha, Nebraska, which has remained his home since, creating a beautiful family of his own. Idaho found her heart in 1995 on a temporary assignment, needless to say, turned permanent, and the decision to root in Idaho was made. Rhonda started and ran a successful cleaning business for 20 years, Maid in America, servicing hundreds across southeast Idaho. Everywhere she went she made friends, her clients were all her friends who each held a small place in her heart. She had a gift of seeing the good in every human without judgment. Successfully retiring from her cleaning company in 2015, she really started to figure out what it was all about, enjoying life - that’s when she met Robert McCann. She and Robert shared contagious smiles and adventures many can only dream of. They motorcycled all over the country and Canada, rocked leathers like she was built for the back of a bike, and even discovered how much she loved camping. Her smile & spirit radiated throughout any room she entered, of course gaining new friendships on every stop.
Rhonda is survived by her siblings; Terri Streen (Buffalo Grove, IL), Greg Bachel (Phoenix, AZ) Steve (Connie) Bachel (Sheridan, WY), son Shane (Danielle) Ratzlaff of Papillion, NE, daughter Barbara (Andy) Miller of Ammon, ID, bestfriend and love Robert McCann of Idaho Falls, ID, and the sparkle of her eye, her grandchildren; Kaylie, Boen and Brode. She is preceded in death by both her parents, David Johnson, Charles Marshall, and her two brothers Tim and Tom Bachel.
Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye, as per her wishes with a Celebration of Life at the Eagles - 635 Hemmert Ave, Idaho Falls, Saturday, January 29, from 11am to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Idaho Falls are greatly appreciated.
