He spent his early life in San Francisco, California. He graduated from Balboa High School, and attended two years at Heals College. He served in the Korean War as a Gunners Mate Second Class. He married Jo Ann Hall in San Francisco, California, on February 21, 1952. They lived in San Francisco and in San Diego, California. He worked until his retirement from AT& T. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks, and the 40&8. He sang in the church choir most of his life, most recently at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed boating, bowling, fishing, singing in the choir, and golfing. He was big-hearted, loved his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Gervasi of Idaho Falls; daughter, Arleen Malone of Idaho Falls; two sons, Paul Gervasi of Indonesia and Jim Gervasi of Riverside, California; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother. Private family services will be held at a later date.
