Robert "Bob" Hansen, 93, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at his son's home in Idaho Falls. He was born on October 27, 1919 in Blackfoot, to Melvin and Veda Peterson Hansen. He was raised on a farm near Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School, class of 1937. He served in the Army in World War II as a Corporal. He married Velma "Tillie" Anderson on February 24, 1948, in Butte, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He owned Bob & Dales Restaurant and also worked as a postal carrier. After retiring he ran a Taxi service in Blackfoot. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Ward Clerk, Stake Clerk, in the Bishopric, High Council, Gospel Doctrine teacher and High Priest Group Leader. He loved to read and learn. He was a family man with a great knowledge and a love for the gospel.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Fagan of Seattle, Washington; son, Kerry (Diane) Hansen of Idaho Falls; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Tillie, his son's James and Ross, his daughter Janice Hansen Thurman, and his son-in-law Gerry Fagan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Blackfoot Stake Center, 1650 Highland Drive in Blackfoot, with Bishop Daniel Hale, officiating. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot.
