Roberta "Bobby Jo" Sessions

Roberta "Bobby" Jo Sessions, age 74, of Fruitland, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at a Payette Care Center from a very aggressive cancer that took her quickly. To honor her wishes, there will be no services. Condolences may be made to Bobby Jo's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. She was born in Lucas, KS on Dec. 24, 1937. In 1942, her family moved from Lucas to Nyssa, OR. They moved to Adrian, OR in Jan. of 1945, where her family owned and operated the Adrian Oil Company. Bobby Jo graduated from Adrian High School in 1956. Bobby Jo married Melvin "Smiley" Sessions on Jan. 20, 1962. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. In 1972, after living in Adrian, Terra Hills, CA, Rodeo, CA and Ontario, OR they settled in Fruitland, ID. Bobby Jo attended a business college in Nampa, ID after high school and began working at a bank in Parma, ID. She also worked at the Fruitland Elementary School cafeteria while her children attended school there, as well as working at Hatch's book store in Ontario for several years. She enjoyed doing many things; including sewing, cooking, and reading (she always had a book with her wherever she went). Another one of her loves was riding motorcycles with Smiley, but her main joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Bobby Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Robert "Bob" and Eulahala (Pugh) Webster. She is survived by her husband, Melvin "Smiley" Sessions; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Liz (Roberts) Sessions of Plano, TX; daughter, Stefanie (Sessions) Ritter of New Plymouth; brothers Gary Webster of Iowa City, IA and Jim Webster of Fruitland; seven grandchildren, Rob Uehlin, Samantha Uehlin, Rob Sessions, Deanna Sessions, Nikita Silva, Michael Sessions, and Ella Ritter; five nieces, nephews and their families, whom she cared for a great deal. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Luke's Hospice, Idaho Humane Society, or a charity of her choice, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
