Roland Werner Ulrich

Roland W. Ulrich passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Valley View Life Center in Boise, ID at the age of 95 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born December 21, 1915 in Elkcreek, Nebraska, the son of Edmund and Mary Ulrich. At the age of three the family moved to Clover, ID where he completed the eighth grade at Clover Lutheran School. He served in the US Navy from January 8, 1942 to September 8, 1945. On March 5, 1944 he married Janette Bos in Twin Falls, ID. They lived in San Francisco, CA until the end of WW II, at which time they returned to Filer, ID where he farmed until he retired in 2001. Roland was active in Peace Lutheran Church. He was also a member Lower One Sidebander CB Club. Roland will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Marie (Steve) Haumann and Mary Alice Ulrich-McNeel, both of Boise, ID; also 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Janette in 1992, his son Robert in 1988 and 5 brothers and his parents.
We want to express our gratitude to the staff of Valley View and Harrison Hope Hospice for the loving care and kindness given to our Daddy and to his grandson Desi Ahrens for taking care of his Grandpa.
The funeral service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Filer, ID at 11:00 am on September 2, 2011. Visitation will be at White Mortuary in Twin Falls, ID from 6 - 9 pm on September 1, 2011.
