Ronald Douglas Swisher

Ron Swisher, 56, passed away at home Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 surrounded by family and loved ones. He fought a four month battle with lung cancer. He had a strong will to live but could not battle the illness. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7th at the Church of the Nazarene, 1980 7th Ave. N., Payette. Cremation was under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Ron's family at www.shaffer-jenenchapel.com. Ron was born Oct. 13, 1955 to Terry and Geraldine Swisher in Ontario, OR. He was the youngest of three children. Ron lived in Payette receiving his education and graduating from P.H.S. in 1974. He began his truck driving career in 1978 at A.F.F. Payette and drove there until 2001. He continued driving for Fifer Trucking and Grothaus Trucking until 2012.
In 1978 he married his high school girlfriend Sandra Tipton. From this bond three loving children were born. Ron loved building and modifying vehicles, tractor pulling, NASCAR races and his dog Max. Ron spent the last six years with his loving and caring partner Leslie Anthony. Ron is survived by his father Terry Swisher; sisters Suzie Becker and Shari Bachmann; Sandy Swisher; his children Lindsay Swisher Rodriquez and Troy Swisher; grandchildren Jayda Robinson and Jaxon Rodriquez; two nieces and two nephews; Leslie Anthony, her children Kevin, Justin, Jarod, and Jacob and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine Kinney and son Jacob Swisher. In lieu of flowers donations may be made for the Ron Swisher Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
