Rosie Viola Keck Goff

Rosie Viola Goff, 90, of Boise, formerly of Payette passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011. She spent her last few months in the life care center at Boise. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23rd at River of Life Christian Center, Payette. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Rosie's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
Rosie was born on Oct. 3, 1921 in Nyssa, OR to Abdul and Flora Keck. She was born on the Keck Island. She was one of 14 children. Rosie went to a little country school until going to the high school in Nyssa where she graduated in 1939. She married Arvin Goff in 1940 and they bought a farm in Nu Acres. They moved to Payette, ID in 1951 where they lived until 1963 and then moved back to the farm until they retired. She worked at the Payette Bakery, Idaho Veneer, Ore-Ida and the Payette nursing home. They went to Yuma, AZ in the winters where she enjoyed walking, yard sales, church and friends. She volunteered at the food bank while there. In the summers they spent time at their place in Old Meadows, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Goff, married 62 years; her parents, siblings, and one great grandchild. She is survived by her four children, Beverly Jean Cable-Calligheris of Boise, Ronald Arvin Goff of Webster, TX, Lonnie Raymond Goff of Ontario-Annex, OR, and Debra Colleen Fuhriman of Nampa, ID; two brothers, Ted Keck of Justin, TX and Houston Keck of Beaverton, OR; sixteen grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. In lieu of flowers friends may make donations to the Rosie Goff Memorial, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
