Sam Earl Eddins 80, of Idaho Falls passed away July 29, 2012, at EIRMC surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Labelle, Idaho on August 20th 1931 but always celebrated it on August 21st. His parents were George William Eddins and Sarah Meiklejohn Eddins. He attended school in Labelle, Caldwell, and Rexburg Idaho.
He was at a dance in Rexburg, Idaho where he met Ruth Genene Peterson. They later married and had four children. Sam worked various farming and agricultural jobs and then he went into the sprinkler and irrigation business where he played a key role in the introduction of automated irrigation equipment with Mel Brown Pump Co. He was known by all the kids that would visit as the "candyman." He also had his own garage door business, Sam's Overhead. His son Dennis helped him hang garage doors as did his son Stuart after he moved back to Idaho. Sam retired from BMC West to do the job he loved best, golf and work on an occasional garage door.
When he was not on the course at Jefferson Hills, he loved to fish, camp, hunt, watch old western movies, dance and spend time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
