Devin was born Nov. 23, 1988 in Nampa, ID and was raised in the Council and Star areas. He graduated from Eagle High School in 2007. Devin joined the military in 2008. He married Samantha Ferguson in Fayetteville, NC before he deployed in 2010. Since Aug. of 2010 he had been a vehicle operator in the 546th Transportation Company. Devin loved the military and that's where he found his home. His achievements were outstanding; Devin was a hard charging and squared away soldier. Sgt. Daniels' chain of command could always count on him to complete the mission. He loved his wife Samantha and their young daughter Olivia Lynn, who was born in Jan. of this year. When Devin was able to come home on leave for 14 days, being there for her birth and being able to hold his daughter was the highlight of his life. Devin also loved hunting in Idaho with his dad, and loved the outdoors in general. He told his mom "you can take the boy out of Idaho, but you can never take Idaho out of the boy." Daniels was posthumously promoted to sergeant from the rank of corporal. Devin and his mother live by the "motto" "Winners never quit, and quitters never win." Devin is survived by his parents James Daniels and Marnie Summers, wife Samantha and daughter Olivia. Survivors also include grandparents Betty Ward, Bill and Sally Summers all of Council, great-great grandmother Dorothy Craig of Payette, brothers Cody Hardin of Star and Lucas Daniels of Council, sister Sophie Daniels of Council, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
