Shaine Randy White

Shaine Randy White was born June 27, 1975, with a zest for life and extraordinary intelligence and talent. He was a bright, happy child who loved to laugh, tease and intellectually challenge those around him, characteristics he retained throughout his too-short life. In his early years, Shaine had few toys which survived, because he could not resist taking them apart to see how they worked. When he got older, he not only put them back together, he usually created an improved version. By the time he was a teenager, Shaine could build anything, and he could fix anything. He had an innate understanding of how things worked, and the dexterity, patience and practical skill to put that knowledge to use. During grade school he operated a neighborhood bicycle repair shop out of the family garage; for a high school science project, he designed and built a working hydroelectric plant, again in the family garage. In fact, Shaine's projects often occupied the garage, leaving little room for automobile parking, much to his parents' chagrin.
Shaine graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1993, and subsequently earned a degree in computer network engineering. He moved to Boise, Idaho, and worked in the computer field throughout the remainder of his life, ultimately as a self-employed consultant. He was a computer genius, and was an expert at building, repairing and configuring computer systems. However, Shaine's extraordinary intelligence required additional stimulation, and he always had projects and innovations going in addition to his employment, including a hydroponic farming experiment he was working on with his uncle, Steven Macurdy, at the time of his death.
Shaine had wide and varied interests. However, first and foremost, Shaine loved his family. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He loved family gatherings, and adored his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews and his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a good and loyal friend, who would do anything he could to help others. It was not uncommon for him to stop and help random motorists he saw stranded by the side of the road, or to drive from Boise to Idaho Falls simply because a family member or close friend needed his help.
Shaine also loved skydiving, skiing, good coffee, his dog, Lulu, and his cat, Bandita (not necessarily in that order!). He enjoyed gardening, music, reading, playing chess, logic games, and sports. He thrived on spirited discussions about politics, religion, world affairs, and a myriad of other topics. He knew a little bit about everything, and a great deal about many things.
Shaine is survived by his mother, Alice Pike, step-father, Kenneth Krell, sisters, Jennifer "J.J." White (Chad Shelley), Bethanie White (Chad Flook), brother, Andrew Nofear White, step-sisters Peggy Pike, Kathryn (Mark) Whiteside, Tamera (Chad) Sneddon, Alexis Pike (Jerone Carpenter), Amanda (Nate) McFain and Elizabeth Krell, and step-brothers Jon Pike and Matthew Krell (Angela). He is also survived by his beloved nieces Mirabella Skillman, Kaitlyn Shelley, Sadie Grusin, Erica and Megan Whiteside, and Isabel Sneddon, and nephews Malachi Skillman, Justice Carpenter, Ian Sneddon, and Josh Pike. He was preceded in death by his father, Randy Nofear White and his step-father, Edward W. ("Ted") Pike.
Shaine was killed September 20, 2012 in an automobile accident, leaving a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A memorial service celebrating Shaine's life will be held November 2, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to local humane societies and/or no-kill animal shelters.
