Shane Frederick Persons

Shane Frederick Persons, 52, of Idaho Falls, passed away on 11/30/2021.

Shane was a truck driver and spent many years as a long-haul driver until he was unable due to a medical condition. He took great pride in his work and the trucks he drove. He was a skilled driver of all kinds of heavy machinery.

Shane and his sister spent a lot of their youth with their grandparents Merle and Sybil. He was especially close to his grandpa, Merle, who was a father to him. He spent time with him on the farm and racing horses. He married Teresa Lane and had the privilege of being part of a family with Teresa’s two girls. It was a happy time in his life. They later divorced.

Shane loved horses and all animals. He was a big fan of Boise State and Steeler football. He loved his friends and being a member of the Eagles lodge. He especially loved making other people laugh and giving big hugs. He was blessed to have the best “cuz” in his life and loved Darin.

Shane is preceded in death by his mother, LaRue Persons, Grandparents Merle and Sybil Cox, and his uncles Brent and Dennis Hebdon.

He is survived by his sister Stephanie (Javier) Ortensi, his nephew Dylan, his Aunt Judy (Mike) Bolan, and many cousins.

Please donate to the local animal shelter to honor Shane in lieu of flowers. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
