Sidney Lee "Vip" Vipperman
Twin Falls - Vip, 73 of Twin Falls passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home after a long battle with COPD. Vip was surrounded by his loving family and many, many dear friends not only throughout his life, but during his final days.
Vip was born September 14, 1940 in Hagerman, Idaho the fourth of six children to Ross and Pat Vipperman.
Vip is survived by his mother Pat Vipperman, his siblings, David Vipperman, Arlene (Jess) Thomas, Bonnie (Dale) Roley, Ken (Celia) Vipperman, and Sharon (Eddie)Gustamanti. His children, Jeri Spradley, Gary (Laura) Vipperman, Jess (Mindy) Vipperman, Tina (James) Carlson, Frank (Peggy) Martinez, ZJ Martinez, Eula (Kyle) Hagen, 24 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Vip was preceded in death by his father, Ross Vipperman, his first wife Doris Vipperman, his second wife Connie Vipperman and his son Jim Vipperman.
Vip was a member of the US Navy where he proudly served his country for 20 years. After retiring from the Navy in 1976 Vip worked another 22 years for Lamb Weston. He retired in 2003.
The last several years Vip has enjoyed the company of his many dear friends, and his loving family. A jokester by nature with a keen whit and sharp tongue Vip could tell a joke like no other. He had a zest for life and a love of country music. Vip performed many a country song on various stages throughout his lifespan. He loved performing with and for friends and family.
Vip's children would like to give special thanks to our father's dear friends, Kathy Stone, and Rick and Pam Zeay. Your love and support meant so much to dad and it was very reassuring to us kids knowing he had you all. Thank you so much he loved you all dearly and truly cherished your friendship. Special thanks to our brother from another mother Mark Farmer for taking care of the old man when we weren't around.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park" 136 4th Ave E., Twin Falls, Idaho.
