Steve Strickling, 49, of Idaho Falls, ID, passed away Oct. 9, 2012 to fatal injuries acquired from a car accident on HWY 28.
He was born in Portland, OR on February 7, 1963 and adopted by Ronald Strickling and Dorine Hardy. He attended high school at Roseburg High school in Roseburg, Ore where he had also acquired some college experience. He later joined the Army where he lived in Germany for a little while, and after returning to the states he joined the National Guard in Idaho Falls.
He married his wife Carla Strickling on February 24, 1990. He had gone through many, many jobs in his years until he found that perfect job driving dump truck for HK contractors, and then recently changed over to working for KVAMME. He couldn't have been happier with where he was working.
Many of his hobbies revolved around spending time with all of the "kids," shooting his guns, and just learning about everything from wars and history.
Steve was one of the best, most happy, fun-loving guys. All of the friends that came around of his kids referred to him as Dad.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and a few other family members. Steve is survived by his wife Carla Strickling of Idaho Falls, ID, his two daughters Eileen Strickling of Germany and Jessica Strickling of Idaho Falls, ID, three sons Alan Longacre of Yakima, Washington, Michael Strickling of Germany, and Tommy Strickling of Germany, two sisters Rhonda (Gary) Percival of Roseburg, Oregon and Laurie Chartier of Looking Glass, Oregon, his granddaughter Amy Strickling of Germany, grandma Jim Lowry of Meridian, Idaho, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. A gathering for friends and family will held one hour prior to the memorial services on Tuesday.
