Idaho Falls - Svea Borchardt, 53, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Idaho Falls. She was born on January 21, 1960 in Aspen, Colorado, to Robert Sealander & Carol Nield Babbitt. She moved from Aspen, Colorado to Jackson, Wyoming where she began her schooling and became involved in Ski racing. She married Brad Borchardt and they raised four children and followed Brad through his military career, after which they settled in Bremerton, Washington. She loved flower gardening, spending time with her family, and watching football. Svea was a kind, gentle, quick witted, loving person.
Survivors include her daughters, Joelene Borchardt of Bremerton, Washington, and Nichole Borchardt of Idaho Falls; her sons, Brian Borchardt and Robert Borchardt, both of Bremerton, Washington; her father, Robert (Robin) Sealander of Ormond Beach, Florida; her mother, Carol (Thurm) Babbitt of Idaho Falls; her sisters, Annalisa (Bob) Morgan of Idaho Falls, and Sky Sealander of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her brothers, Hans Sealander and Sven Sealander, both of Bremerton, Washington, and Klaus Sealander of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband and her grandparents.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Camp Hodia at www.hodia.org.
