Ted Ely

Theodore S. Ely, age 85 passed away on July 22, 2018 surrounded by his family at his daughter's home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born July 14, 1933 in Hightstown, New Jersey to Charles Allen Ely and Sarah E. Ely. Upon graduation from Hightstown High School, he married Margaret Celeste Byrne on April 11, 1953. Ted served in the United States Army as a Corporal from 1953 to 1955, he was honorably discharged. For many years, Ted worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Ted later worked as a contractor building homes in Colorado and then moved to Florence, Arizona where he retired. He is survived by his brother, Reginald Ely of Raleigh, NC, by sons, Theodore Ely Jr. (Grace) of Apache Jct., Arizona, James Ely (Judy) of Florence, Arizona, his daughter, Linda (Ely) Hill (David) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, grandchildren Mandy Jones, Cody Ely, Travis Ely, Tyler Hill, Matthew Hill, great-grandchildren Matilda Jones, Tuker Ely, and Sutton Ely. Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ely and Sarah Ely, his brother, Vincent Ely, and his sister, Sarah (Ely) Smith. Services will be held privately at a later time.
