Una Mae Martin

Una Mae Martin, 87, of Idaho Falls passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1 at Morningstar Retirement Center surrounded by her daughers. She had been under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born February 20th, 1926 in Siebert CO and moved to Idaho Falls area in 1937. She attended schools in Shelley and graduated from Ammon High School in 1943. She married Lloyd Richard Martin on June 2, 1943 in Idaho Falls. She and her husband lived and worked on the family Homestead farm south of Idaho Falls between Hitt Road and St Clair Road. She was well suited to farm life, for she spent the next 63 years working side by side with her husband. The high light of their early years was spending a week with the family in Yellowstone National Park taking their boat and tent to enjoy outdoor camping.
Una Mae was a member of First Baptist Church of Idaho Falls. She worked in the Baptist Women's Circle, enjoyed Bible study, playing bridge with friends, and dominoes with her family. She later became a member of Falls Baptist Church. She was a talented baker and her Cinnamon Rolls were loved by her entire family.
Una Mae is survived by her daughters, Janet (Bud) Cheney, Idaho Falls; Fran (Richard) Ashton, Spring, TX; and Angela Worthington, Pattison, TX; her brother, Ivan (Kathryn) Burden, Idaho Falls; and her sisters, Esther Withers, Oklahoma City, OK; Hope (Dennis)Neeley, Junction City, OR; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grand children.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Lloyd, and her daughter, Loy D. Legan Oltmanns, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services are to be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, at Buck-Miller-Hann funeral home, 825 East 17th St, Idaho Falls, with Pastor Roger Odegard, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 both at the funeral home. Burial will at Taylor Cemetary. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran St, Idaho Falls, ID. or Wounded Warriors.
