Vivian Elaine Stowell Peterson

October 26, 1926 — February 2, 2014

Vivian Elaine Peterson, 87, of Boise, passed away early Sunday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2014 in her home. She was with her family and special hospice nurse, Sharon, when she went to be with our Lord. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8th at the First Baptist Church, New Plymouth with Pastor Phillip Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to Vivian's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Vivian was the third child born Oct. 26, 1926 to Merrill and Sylvia Stowell from Vermillion, KS. She moved in 1944 to Payette, ID with her first husband, Lorry Coons and their children. They moved to Fruitland in 1958. After Lorry's death in 1967 she worked for Albertson's in Ontario and later in Boise. Vivian was with Albertson's for 25 years. She met and married "her honey" Bill Peterson in 1972. They moved to Boise in 1973. They enjoyed so many things together, especially each other, dancing, and their beautiful home. Vivian is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bill Peterson, Sr.; her children, Vinetta Allen of Spanaway, WA, Lorry L. Coons of Roseburg, OR, Dean Coons of Renton, WA, and Maru Ryan-Boerste of Roseburg, OR, Mirinda (Randi) Booker of Colorado, Bill Peterson, Jr. of Newport, OR, and Margaret "Margi" McAllister of Emmett; her siblings, Dorothy Coons of Ontari, LaVerne Booth of Payette, Dean Stowell of Payette, and Marilyn Sanders of Charleston, SC; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lorry Coons; both her parents; and her oldest brother, Claud Stowell Memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
