Bill Howe was born December 9, 1930 to David Alonzo and Ardella (Stone) Howe in Rigby, ID. Bill lived the first five years of his life with his family in Rigby until his father's death. He later moved to Idaho Falls with his mother and stepfather, Ardella and Garold McCullough, and his sister Barbara Joyce Howe Bennion. Bill attended school in Idaho Falls and later graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. Following the war, he returned to Idaho Falls where he met the love of his life, Ruth Squires. They were married and celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary last July. Bill and Ruth were blessed with two children: Bradley G. Howe of Idaho Falls and Lorilee Howe Weaver and husband Melvin Royce "Royster" of Grace, ID. Bill worked for Westinghouse / Bechtel in the production department for 30 years at the INL site before retiring. Bill is best remembered by family and friends for his love of the outdoors and many colorful adventures. Everyone has a favorite story to tell. Brad and Lori joke they grew up in a tent because of the many days spent camping, hunting, and fishing with Dad and Mom. Bill loved to travel the backroads of Idaho and many places inspired him to return. Bill and Ruth have five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth and sister Barbara Bennion of Spokane, WA. In accordance with Bill's wishes a memorial service will be held at a later date.
