Wilma Jane Thompson, 78, of Payette, formerly of Huntington, OR and many other places, passed away Aug. 21, 2013 at the Payette Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7th at Whitebird Cemetery, Whitebird, ID with a memorial service and potluck following at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Whitebird. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and more friends than you can count. Wilma was born Oct. 7, 1934 at Whitebird, ID to Jim and Lanoma (New) Paul. She was the oldest of six children. Growing up in Idaho County, she went to school in Whitebird and Grangeville to the 10th grade. Wilma met Dwain Thompson and they were married in Reno, NV on April 9, 1953; they were married 59 years. They lived first in Grangeville, then in Cottonwood on the Salmon River and Doumac. Wilma and Dwain lived and worked all over eight Northwest States; doing a lot and seeing all kinds of country; taking a ton of pictures. She was into history and genealogy of the family. She loved to take pictures and have family gatherings. Wilma is survived by three children, Anita Carol Cooper (Gary) of Hermiston, OR, Deward Thompson (Kathy) of Durkee, OR, and Tammy Jacobs (Ron) of Payette, ID; nine grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren with two more on the way.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwain, parents, brother, sister, niece, nephew, and great grandson. We all love you and will always miss you forever. You are finally back at the side of Dwain, where you belong, cause we can't have you with us anymore. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O.
