Wyndell Carrol Banister, age 83, passed away on February 24th 2018. He was born to parents Conrad and Audie (Southern) Banister in Tyrone, Oklahoma.
After Wyndell graduated high school he enlisted in the United States Army and joined the 82nd platoon. He later went on to get his Master's degree from Washington State University.
He married Elaine Pace August 1954, the couple divorced 19 years later. He was then married to Sallye Horton, March 8th 1973, the couple raised 8 wonderful children together.
Wyndell had a variety of interests, as an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed tending to his Morgan horses, camping, mining and hunting. In college he boxed at a Golden Glove level; he also had a love for travel and traveled from coast to coast.
Wyndell will be fondly remembered as a brilliant man and a loving father and husband.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one brother, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Sallye, his children, Maydeana (Paul) Pattison of Seabeck, Washington, Matthew (Corinne) of Blackfoot, Idaho, Rhonda (Erik) Olson of Idaho Falls, Donald Lutes Jr., Linda (Mike) Phelps), Susan (Chuck) Waters, Gordon Lutes, Connie Johnson, 28 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
A service in his honor will be held Saturday March 3rd 2018 at 10a.m. at the Church of Christ 2650 Plommon St. 83402, Idaho Falls, Idaho. There will be a visitation immediately following the service.
Donations can be made in Wyndell's honor to a local Alzheimer's center.
