Carol Jean Homan Lanfear

Carol Jean (Homan) Lanfear, 79, of Fruitland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center - Ontario. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am, Friday, Nov. 7th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. Condolences may be made to Carol's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. Carol was born June 23, 1935 to William and Alice Homan. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA until the age of 10 when the family moved to Fruitland, ID. She attended school in Fruitland and graduated high school in 1954. Carol was a licensed cosmetology instructor and worked 38 years at that profession. She married Bernard Pollard and had one son, Kurt William Pollard. Carol and Bernard were later divorced. On Sept. 4, 1981 she married Alvie Lanfear and they enjoyed 17 wonderful years together until his passing Feb. 24, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son. Carol is survived by a grandson Brent W. Pollard; step children Sandra (Lanfear) Berain, Lester A. Lanfear and Debbie (Lanfear) Gretz; and step grandchildren Nicole Svernkerud, Andrea Courtney-Fisher, Jeremy Courtney, Michael Gretz, Jason Gretz and Abby Gretz. Also surviving is longtime friend Ronald Sullins who watched over Carol in her final years.
