Ila Marie DeLeeuw Myers

September 6, 1934 — October 2, 2014

Ila Marie DeLeeuw Myers was born in Beaver, Utah September 6, 1934 to Volney E. DeLeeuw and Jennis M. Patterson DeLeeuw. She was the second of five daughters. Ila attended schools in Beaver, Utah. She graduated from Beaver High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Dale Hayward Myers on August 17, 1951. They have been blessed with six children, 19 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. Dale and Ila move to New Plymouth, Idaho and established the Myers Dairy in 1961. Ila was a true homemaker and enjoyed cooking and canning. She always had a large garden that produced the vegetables and fruit that was canned and fed her growing family. Quilting was her all-time favorite hobby which she learned from her mother and passed on to her daughters. Most every trip to town, she added to her fabric stash for future quilting projects. After Dale retired, they enjoyed traveling and camping in their fifth wheel and fishing along the many roads they traveled. Most all of their travels entailed visiting family. Ila also enjoyed phone calls from her kids and grandkids to keep up with their many diverse activities and projects. She and Dale enjoyed working in the Boise LDS Temple and served there for many years. Ila also served in many ward callings over her lifetime. Ila was preceded in death by her father and mother and her daughter-in-law LuJean Myers. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dale Myers and their six children; Alan (Kristin) of New Plymouth, Idaho, Jill (Duke Hollingshead) of Minersville, Utah, Joani (David Haws) of Minden, Nevada, Jed (Robin) of Nyssa, Oregon, Jason (Denise), of Fruitland, Idaho, and Kathy, of Boise, Idaho and her four sisters; Jolene Roberts, Marilyn Comish, Margaret Palmer, and Gay Thorn and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday October 7, 2014 at the New Plymouth LDS church building at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing Monday evening October 6, 2014 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in New Plymouth from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
